           Tibiao Bakery is the first bakeshop in Tibiao, Antique. It provides affordable yet with outstanding quality food products to Antiqueños and that can compete regionally and globally.Tibiao Bakery started in around 1953. That’s why for most Ilonggos, Tibiao is always associated with good and tasty breads. It has spawned out numerous branches mainly in Iloilo City, and to the whole Panay Island and there’s also one in New Zealand. It is a landmark in Iloilo, and is well known for its specialty for Filipino breads such as pandesal, ensaymada, and pan de coco among others.Tibiao Bakery started in around 1953. That’s why for most Ilonggos, Tibiao is always associated with good and tasty breads. It has spawned out numerous branches mainly in Iloilo City, and to the whole Panay Island and there’s also one in New Zealand. It is a landmark in Iloilo, and is well known for its specialty for Filipino breads such as pandesal, ensaymada, and pan de coco among others.It was under the sole proprietorship of Manuel B. Lim Sr. when it started in the fifties and in 1982 his sons, Vicente and Stephen, started the business operations in Iloilo City. Eventually in 1989, the business was converted from sole proprietorship to a corporation.Mayor Lim and his wife reveal that this (mother) branch uses the same methods and equipment in baking bread eversince. Unlike their Iloilo factory along Avancena Street in Molo, which uses modern ovens, the Tibiao branch still uses the old pugon constructed in1955, June 5 to be exact.

        Antique is not just all about the hidden talents of the youths. It is also about the hidden paradise our humble province keeps. More and more tourist destination are now open here. Relaxing and at the same time find time to enjoy? Antique has a lot to offer.
       Here are some of our most treasured spots that you don't wanna miss.

1. Malalison Island at Culasi, Antique.
            This mini Boracay place can offer you anything you like. Just by looking at it, you can say that you're in paradise.Tourists,call it Malalison Island. Locals say it’s Mararison.
Whatever it’s called, this small, hook-shaped island in Antique, will always be associated in your mind with the realization of how beautiful my province is. Indeed, there are still a lot of stunningly beautiful islands in the Philippines sans the foreign tourists, loud music, and tons of trash. Your time in Malalison Island, with its white sand beaches, a small community of fisherfolk, hundreds of pitcher plants, a steep mountain,  and an incomparable view at the peak, will always be an experience you won’t forget. That's a guarantee.

2. Malumpati Cold Spring at Pandan, Antique.
        Feeling hot and bored? Malumpati is the place for you. Its ice-like water can sure relax your stressed body.Malumpati Health Spring and Tourist Resort is located in Sitio Malumpati, Brgy. Guia, Pandan, Antique. You can access this resort through Brgy. Sto. Rosario and Brgy. Candari.
The water comes from the Malumpati Cold Spring Headwater located about 35 minutes walk from the resort. A man-made pool was created from the river by constructing a concrete embankment so the water is kept at a certain level and allows it to overflow during heavy rains. It was a Sunday when we visited so the resort was full of people enjoying the long weekends with their families and friends. This could surely be on top of your must-visit list.

Hot Kawa Bath, a one-of-a-kind spa where it feels like you’re being cooked in a giant pot! (It’s more relaxing than it sounds.) The kawa, or metal dish, was once used to cook muscovado sugar. These days, it’s filled with water and herbs, then heated with a fire until it’s ready for you to take a dip.

   The Tibiao River boasts of crystal clear waters suitable for white water rafting/kayaking at various grades of difficulty. Courses are available for those interested to experience this challenging recreational outdoor activity.  For Grade 1, basic kayaking course introduces first timers to paddling a kayak in calm waters. Grade 2 course are fit for those kayaker who wants to experience a higher level of skill paddling through the rapids and big stones. Grade 3-4 course are for those professionals who want to enjoy an adrenaline rush adventure in the strong currents surpassing the big boulders and difficult maneuvers. So, brave enough?

Got rough skin? Let Tibiao’s “thera-fish” nibble away at your dead skin! A one-hour session for the feet costs P100, while the full-body version goes for P200.

v. Bugtong Bato Falls
Bugtong Bato is a seven-tiered waterfall; three levels are open to the public. It’s a rough trek to get there, but your patience will be rewarded with a majestic view of misty falls. Even better — you can rappel down the face of the waterfalls’ cliffs!

An uninhabited island located North East of the Sulu Sea with 1.5 km stretch of sand and shallow clear sea, this island is a crown jewel of Antique and probably one of the best kept secrets of the province. This island is part of Tibiao, which is now dubbed as the eco-heritage destination of Panay Island.

4. Rafflesia in Sibalom, Antique
          The biggest flower in the world can also be seen here in Antique. We are very proud to say that our humble province is the home of the biggest flower.The Rafflesia has become the most celebrated flower in Antique Province.During the Binirayan Festival, there were different competitions like the Rafflesia Inspired Costume, Rafflesia Inspired Drum & Bugle and the Top 10 Rafflesia Designers Battle. It is used as a theme and décor of floats and costumes. Even the park and the municipality where it was first found adopted the flower as its symbol.

3. Nogas Island in Anini-y.
        Soul searching? You might find it here.Nogas is a 24-hectare (59-acre) government naval reservation island in Antique. It is 4.8 kilometres (3 mi) from the shoreline of the town proper and can be accessed by sailboat or motorboat within 20 minutes. It sure can relax your tired body and soul.

THE KINGS AND QUEENS OF DANCEFLOOR


     Dancing for them is everything. This is how they express their feelings. Be it happy or sad. They embody the true meaning of talented Antiqueños every time they hit the dance floor.



EVOLUTION DANCE CREW

      They are the ultimate dancing group you'll ever see here in Antique. They are the best when it comes to their field, dancing. Their motto is, Dance to impress and not to impress. They are not just good in their looks, but they also serve as an inspiration to every young dreamer of Antique. They serve as or big brothers and models.

MARY CHRISTINE BADO

      Modern dance, ethnic, interpretative, hiphop, cramping, dance sports, you name it, this talented young lady can do it all. I am very proud to say that she's my best friend. I sing, she dance. That's what we always do. She dances with her heart and by that, people watching her, could also relate to every moves her body does. She should be on TV by now.



HIPHOP MECHANICS CREW

      Awesomeness? They sure got it. This competitive dance group is the pride of Tibiao and of course the pride of the UA-TLMC. They always dance their hearts out which they always shout every time they dance, "PUSO". They believe that with out heart, their dance would be meaningless.




 UA-TLMC FOLK DANCERS

              When it comes to balancing coconut shells and self discipline, these beautiful ladies sure know how to. Their unbelievable talents in dancing can sure wow the world. Their grace in every moves describes how Antiqueños face their problems with courage and faith. They will represent Antique in the upcoming PASUC.






       You see, its not all about the talent we have here in Antique. There are hidden places and treasures waiting to be discovered. My next post will be all about the beautiful tourist destinations that Antique can give and satisfy your eyes, feelings and even your taste buds.

ANTIQUEÑOS ON NATIONAL TV (JOSHUA OLIVEROS)

JOSHUA OLIVEROS 
THE VOICE KIDS SEASON THREE GRANDCHAMPION

            A young boy from Antique who wants to use his talent to improve his parents' relationship, first caught the attention of Broadway star Lea Salonga when he belted out "Habang May Buhay" for his blind audition. While it failed to impress Bamboo Mañalac and Sharon Cuneta, his performance was enough to earn him a spot in the next round. 
       Joshua Oliveros, dubbed the "Hopeful Son ng Antique," has been named grand champion of the third season of "The Voice Kids" on Sunday, August 28,2016, at Resorts World Manila.Oliveros, who got into the finals after garnering 56.15 percent of votes in the semi-finals, edged out the competition with his rendition of Yeng Constantino's "Salamat."
        Joshua hails from the humble and peaceful town of Hamtic, Antique. He is 13 years old and a young boy with big voice and heart.




          Together with his coach, Lea Salonga, Joshua reached his dreams. Well after all, that was just the beginning. Appearances on TV, guesting and a lot more were this boy's routine everyday since he won the said competition.



         This kid has a simple wish. He just wanted to join The Voice Kids so that he could help his parent get back together and fix their broken family. Through his sacrifice and perseverance, that simple wish came true, and with a bonus. He was name champion of The Voice Kids Season 3, and the first ever Antiqueño to dominate a national competition on TV. By that, he serves as an inspiration to all those youths dreaming high and aiming for that mark that could uplift their living. God bless Joshua. God bless Antique.
